Abstract | This dissertation is built around the central argument that integrating popular music and new media into the formal educational curriculum significantly enhances student engagement, cognitive development, and the overall learning experience in primary and secondary schools in China. The study covers three key areas that illustrate the impact of these modern educational tools: cognitive neurobehavioral plasticity through music training, the role of new media in modernizing music education, and the practical benefits of integrating popular music into formal school curricula. |
