Abstract

This dataset encapsulates the creative endeavors of students who have actively participated in the U.S. Embassy School Elections Project, showcasing their innovative ideas and election predictions through various mediums. It consists of student products for the years 2023/24. It is part of the school contributions collection for the U.S. Embassy School Elections Project, a comprehensive and meticulously curated collection of student projects and election predictions spanning four distinct school years: 2012/13, 2016/17, 2020/21 and 2023/24. The whole dataset comprises more than 300 individual contributions, representing a diverse array of formats, including texts, posters, images, songs, movies, videos, padlets (in both JPEG and PDF formats), powerpoint presentations and other. The dataset can be utilized to conduct in-depth analyses, extracting insights on content themes, sentiment analysis and the like, thereby deepening their understanding of students' perspectives and their evolving responses to U.S. Elections and politics over time. This collection of student-generated content facilitates an exploration of the dynamic interplay between teaching and learning English as a foreign language, creativity, intercultural competence and civic engagement, thereby contributing to a broader understanding of student involvement and learning within the context of Content and Language Integrated Learning.
