Description of the DatasetThe Eco-challenge dataset offers a comprehensive collection of student participation conducted as part of the Going Green - Education for Sustainability course. The dataset focuses on the analysis of how various module topics, such as "Green Energy", "Plastic Recycle" and "Toxic Fashion", impact students' local communities, including their towns, cities, neighborhoods, families, friends and schools and covers student contributions to different eco-challenges provided within the course curriculum over a span of nine years, from the school year 2014 to 2023. Students engaged in a wide range of activities, including experiments, interviews, questionnaire surveys, photography, and video recording, to examine and understand the implications of these topics on their immediate surroundings. The primary formats of student contributions include presentations, videos, songs, and posters. Each participation entry in the dataset is accompanied by an abstract text providing an overview of the project's objectives, as well as a detailed description of the implementation process. The dataset serves as a valuable resource for researchers and sustainability practitioners interested in studying and promoting environmental consciousness and community engagement within educational settings.
