Abstract

The resources consist of a handbook accompanied by flyers and materials from the project "Going Green - Education for Sustainability“ such as printable worksheets and workshop manuals. The course is centered around the theme of sustainability, encompassing various interconnected topics such as food, green energy, fashion, plastic recycling, youth participation and engagement in society. With a holistic approach, students are encouraged to examine the multifaceted aspects of sustainability, fostering a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in creating a more sustainable future. The handbook serves as a comprehensive guide, offering structured content, instructional strategies and learning objectives aligned with the course curriculum. It provides educators with English language activities, readings, discussions, and projects related to the diverse themes of sustainability. The handbook also incorporates open-source texts, case studies, and real-world examples, providing learners with a solid foundation to explore and reflect upon the complexities of sustainability. The research and inquiry-based activities are designed to provide learners with opportunities to apply their knowledge, engage in critical thinking and develop essential skills in areas such as problem solving, data analysis and communication. The activities allow learners to delve deeper into specific topics and participate actively in their own learning process. They are designed to engage students in meaningful dialogues, and help them develop a sense of agency and responsibility towards their communities.
