Abstract
This cumulative dissertation examines processes of subject formation within early childhood parenting education targeting migrantified mothers in Germany. Drawing on poststructuralist and practice-theoretical perspectives, it analyzes how addressing practices, differentiation, recognition, and the interplay of vulnerability and trust shape these processes. The study is based on a praxiographic case study of two parenting groups in Lower Saxony and draws on fieldnotes, interviews, and program-related documents. The analysis develops three perspectives: (1) the construction of “migrantified motherhood” in early childhood education and care, (2) the practices of differentiation and diversity-making within parenting education, and (3) the relational dynamics of vulnerability and trust within this context. The study shows how mothers are mobilized as key actors within broader integration regimes.
