Abstract

This cumulative dissertation addresses several distinct questions related to family firms at the intersection of their finance and sustainability behaviors. Emphasizing the corporate governance system of family firms in Europe, across three individual articles and a complementary research framework the dissertation explores to what extent family firms differ within their financial management, decarbonization efforts, as well as in terms of the corresponding financial consequences.
