Abstract
The dataset consists of interview data from an explorative qualitative interview case study investigating sufficiency in the housing sector by exploring the example of an AHO project (Alternative Housing Options) in the Bavarian village Weyarn. The study focuses on the perspective of participants of this AHO project and the societal conditions that enabled them to move from a single or double family house into a smaller dwelling in AHO intending to analyse downsizing from the retrospective regarding individual senior citizens. Therefore, the author developed an interview guide with open questions to allow the individuals to talk about their housing situation before and after the move, the decision to move, and the role of AHO. The interviews were conducted in German via Zoom or telephone in March 2025. They lasted between approximately 30 and 75 minutes. In an iterative coding process, the author systematised the qualitative data into main codes and subcodes using MAXQDA software. The MAXQDA project is part of the dataset.
