IMPACT Project Literature Analysis

This dataset compiles coded excerpts and quotations from 127 papers selected from an initial set of 317 relevant papers retrieved from the Web of Science (published between 1987 and December 2023) using the search string: Values AND Sustainable-innovation OR Sustainability-oriented-innovation AND culture OR practices OR methods OR challenges OR education OR barriers OR design OR engineering OR development OR value-sensitive-design OR sustainable-design OR footprint OR circular-economy OR materials OR waste OR entrepreneurship. An additional 25 papers were included through an integrative literature search. The table organises findings from the selected papers into categories such as barriers, challenges, methods used, relevance of values, practices, research objectives and results. These data formed the basis for the snowballing of a further 11 articles addressing the research question of the single-authored paper, "Values-based barriers and good practices in sustainability-oriented innovation management” by Kiril Ivanov. The relevant information from the table, the 11 snowballed articles, and the interview data employed in this publication is presented in the article itself (Tables 2–6).
