Abstract

he concept of Sustainable Chemistry offers a promising pathway for connecting disciplines that have traditionally evolved separately but are increasingly addressing the same societal challenge. Waste management, chemistry, engineering, economics, policy, and the social sciences each contribute essential pieces of the solution. The question is therefore no longer whether these disciplines should work together, but how quickly they can develop the shared knowledge, frameworks, metrics, and governance mechanisms needed to accelerate the transition towards safe, circular, and sustainable material systems.
