Abstract
This dataset extracts coded excerpts or quotes from 26 selected academic and practice-oriented papers, sorting them into categories such as cultural challenges, gamification formats, key insights, evidence, design recommendations, innovation stage and focus, gaps for future research, and implementation considerations. Data were derived following Tranfield et al.'s (2003) systematic review methodology, drawing initially on 415 journal articles (1900–2021) from the Web of Science database and ISPIM conference papers (2009–2021), which were narrowed down to the most pertinent studies. The dataset was used for analysing literature for the joint publication: Breuer, H., Ivanov, K., & Abril, C. (2023). Management guidelines to address cultural challenges and facilitate values-based innovation through gamification.
