Describtion of variables:

sample_id = unique identifier for each aggregated sample
year = year of sampling
interval = number indicating if the data was collected in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd interval of each year
plot = identifier of the respective forest plot (rectangular plots of appr. 500m2 with 4 pitfall traps)
sampling_length = number of days for which the sampling in this respective interval/year/plot lasted
abundance = sum of carabid individuals collected by the 4 pitfall traps for this interval/year/plot
"abundance_Nbrevicollis = sum of individuals belonging the species 'Nebria brevicollis' collected by the 4 pitfall traps for this interval/year/plot. This species displays extreme fluctuation between years. To exclude 'N.brevicollis' this variable can be subtracted from the ""abundance"" variable."
